טענות לרצח עם ברצועת עזה הועלו במהלך מלחמת חרבות ברזל על ידי מספר גורמים בין-לאומיים, מומחים וחוקרים, הגורסים כי פעולותיה של ישראל נגד הפלסטינים ברצועת עזה עולות לכדי השמדת עם והפרת האמנה בדבר מניעתו וענישתו של הפשע השמדת עם.[1] ב-11–12 בינואר 2024, דרום אפריקה פתחה בתלונת דרום אפריקה נגד ישראל בגין רצח עם בבית הדין הבין-לאומי לצדק (ICJ), מה שהוביל להכרה של רצח עם בעזה. גרמניה, ארצות הברית, הממלכה המאוחדת, איטליה, יוון ופולין קבעו כי הטענות לרצח עם שגויות, נורווגיה, שוודיה, קנדה, צרפת ואוסטרליה נתנו לבית הדין הבין-לאומי לצדק לקבוע אם המלחמה המתרחשת בעזה עומדת בהגדרה של רצח עם, בעוד שדרום אפריקה, אירלנד, ספרד, איראן וברזיל קבעו כי רצח עם מתרחש בעזה ללא עוררין.
