פנחס זוסמן

פנחס (סִיקוֹ) זוּסמן (Pinchas Zusman;‏ 10 באוגוסט 1927 – 1 במרץ 2002) היה פרופסור לכלכלה חקלאית באוניברסיטה העברית ומנכ"ל משרד הביטחון.

ביוגרפיה

נולד בתל אביב בשנת 1927. בוגר בית הספר החקלאי כדורי. בשנת 1946 הצטרף לפלמ"ח ושירת בגדוד הראשון. עבר קורס מפקדי כיתות בשדה יעקב. בשנת 1947 עבר קורס מפקדי מחלקות בג'וערה, ומונה למפקד מחלקת רמת יוחנן בגדוד הראשון של הפלמ"ח[1]. בהמשך השתתף בפעולה הרביעית לפיצוץ תחנת רדאר[2]. סיקו לחם בראש מחלקתו בקרבות משמר העמק[3]. בהמשך מלחמת העצמאות, השתתף זוסמן בקרבות בגליל, במבצע דני, בקרב חירבת כוריכור ובטריז בית חנון בקרבות מבצע יואב. בסוף המלחמה מונה למפקד פלוגה בגדוד הראשון בחטיבת יפתח[4]. לאחר הקמת צה"ל היה מדריך וסגן מפקד בית הספר לקצינים.

בשנים 1955-1950 למד חקלאות בפקולטה לחקלאות של האוניברסיטה העברית ברחובות, וקיבל תואר שני. בשנים 1957-1955 היה הממונה על התכנון החקלאי במיזם הקמתו של חבל לכיש. את תואר הדוקטור קיבל בשנת 1961 מאוניברסיטת קליפורניה בברקלי (על עבודה שכותרתה "Econometric Analysis of the Market for California Early Potatoes"), ובמקביל קיבל שם תואר שני בסטטיסטיקה שימושית.

בשנת 1961 הצטרף לסגל הפקולטה לחקלאות של האוניברסיטה העברית ברחובות. בשנת 1966 היה למרצה בכיר, ב-1973 מונה לפרופסור חבר ובשנת 1981 מונה לפרופסור מן המניין. שנים אחדות עמד בראש המחלקה לכלכלה חקלאית. בסוף 1986 מונה למנכ"ל האוניברסיטה העברית[5]. בשנת 1993 פרש לגמלאות, והמשיך כפרופסור אמריטוס.

בשנים 1962-1966 היה יועץ כלכלי במשרד החקלאות. בשנים 1968–1972 היה יועץ כלכלי למשרד הביטחון.[6] בהמשך היה ראש היחידה לתכנון אסטרטגי במשרד הביטחון.[7] ב-1975 מונה למנכ"ל משרד הביטחון שמעון פרס[8] והמשיך בתפקיד תחת השר עזר ויצמן עד שהתפטר ב-1978[9].

cמלחמת ששת הימים היה מפקד גדוד החרמ"ש בחטיבה 8.

במלחמת יום הכיפורים היה מפקד החפ"ק של אריאל שרון.

כיהן כדירקטור מקרב הציבור בבנק דיסקונט.[10]

בשנת 1950 נישא להדסה, ולזוג נולדו שתי בנות. התגורר ברחובות עד למותו ב-2002, בגיל 74. נקבר בעירו רחובות.[11]
