גליקציה (גליקוזילציה לא אנזימטית), הידועה גם בתור סכרור, היא התקשרות קוולנטית של סוכר למולקולת חלבון, ליפיד או חומצת גרעין.^[1] סוכרים אופייניים המשתתפים בגליקציה הם גלוקוז, פרוקטוז, גלקטוז ונגזרותיהם. גליקציה היא תהליך לא אנזימטי האחראי לסיבוכים רבים (למשל, מיקרו ומקרו-וסקולריים) בסוכרת^[2] והוא מעורב במחלות אחרות ובהזדקנות.^[3]^[4]^[5]

בניגוד לגליקציה, גליקוזילציה היא תהליך תלוי ATP המתבצע בתיווך אנזימים של חיבור סוכרים לחלבון או ליפיד.^[1] גליקוזילציה מתרחשת באתרים מוגדרים על מולקולת המטרה. זוהי צורה נפוצה של מודיפיקציה פוסט-טרנסלציונית של חלבונים והיא נדרשת לתפקודו של החלבון הבוגר.
